Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a local log of the terms placed in those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain a message sent directly to us as needed to answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers can receive technical information about that visit:
- Page-view timestamps and time spent on pages
- Device type and operating system
- IP address assigned to the device
- Referring website, when one is supplied
- Browser name and version
- Pages opened during the visit
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure visits, popular pages, and where sessions end. Analytics providers combine that activity into traffic reports. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the website function.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hillsdale County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to the Hillsdale County Sheriff, 2B District Court, First Judicial Circuit Court, Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not turned into a report about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the selected partner's privacy terms, retention choices, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Hillsdale County offices, Michigan agencies, courts, legal-aid resources, or private search services. Once an outside page opens, its operator's privacy policy controls the visit. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and choose targeted advertisements.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when required.
