These conditions govern access to and use of Hillsdale County Criminal History. Opening a page, reading its material, or using a search tool signifies acceptance. A visitor who does not agree must discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no connection to a government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its role is limited to helping visitors locate Hillsdale County and Michigan criminal-record resources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Michigan law specifically limits misuse of Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry information, and MCL 28.730 provides criminal consequences for prohibited conduct. Registry information serves public safety awareness and never authorizes vigilantism.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official checks. Neither we nor an advertising partner offers tools designed for FCRA-regulated decisions. Information from this site or a linked service may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A person needing an authorized check for a regulated purpose must use Michigan State Police or a properly compliant consumer reporting provider, as applicable.
